Let’s face it: most of us don’t drink enough water.

Hydrating is essential all year round, but especially important during the summer when faced with heat and humidity. While we all know we should drink more water, we often fall flat on accomplishing this goal. So, why not incentivize yourself by sprucing up mundane water with some tasty infusions!

Summer Infused Water Recipes
Making infused water is simple (and delicious!). Pick your favorite recipe below and throw it in a pitcher with five cups of water and two cups of ice. Stir and let it soak at room temperature for two hours before drinking.

For each of these recipes, you need:

  • 1 large pitcher
  • 2 cups of ice
  • 5 cups of water

Before you start infusing, here are a few things to note:

  • Use organic ingredients when you can and wash your fruit before infusing.
  • Never use hot water. Only use cold or room temperature water.
  • Softer fruits, like strawberries and mangos, can be chunked. Harder fruits, like apples, need to be sliced thinly.
  • Herb leaves need to be torn or crushed to release flavor.
  • After infusing the water for two hours at room temperature, place the pitcher in the fridge to prevent bacteria growth.
  • Citrus rinds can make the water taste bitter after four hours of soaking. You can peel the citrus before infusing or remove the citrus from the pitcher after four hours.
  • To make your infused water last longer, refill the pitcher when it’s half-way empty.
  • Don’t be afraid to get creative! Follow your taste buds and come up with some new flavors!
  • Feel free to make any of these recipes bubbly by adding sparkling mineral water.
